adidas Superimpose a Vintage Superstar on this Stan Smith “Superstan”

Since we saw it on the Rivalry Low, we’ve seen a slew of Super(star)imposed adidas classics, but none have quite stood out like the first-revealed. That is until we uncovered this new superimposed adidas Stan Smith “Superstan”, which perhaps even rivals the Rivalry.

Like the aforementioned Rivalry, adidas has screen-printed the 50th-anniversary icon onto the Stan Smith’s upper. Adding even more intrigue is the fact that adidas has opted for imposing an aged — maybe even 50-year-old — Superstar graphic on the upper and midsole. Shell toes and midsoles arrive in oxidized fashion, while detail on the uppers is showing signs of distress. More confusion arrives with the pair’s double stitching, Three Stripes and perforation overlap that just doesn’t quite align, and dual heel overlays.
