The 4D-printed soles of the ZX4000 4D provide the perfect base for adidas to continue their pursuit of blending historical designs with modern-day tech. It’s been prevalent in almost every new sneaker release this past 12 months, from the Yung-1 to the Nite Jogger to recently revealed Ozweego. This pair also carries with is vintage design ethos, perfectly juxtaposed with adi’s futuristic tech. The latter arrives in the form of the aforementioned 4D-printed midsole, but the modernization doesn’t stop there. Its NMD-like Primeknit upper comes paired with the deconstructed design language of the past, including suede overlays and hefty heel pulls. The blocking on this new colorways arrives anchored in dark grey, but it’s brought to life through the use of vibrant pink-reds and greens on the overlays, completed with its iconic Ash Green midsole finish.
