French artist and illustrator André Saraiva is the next big-name creative to land a deal with adidas — and he’s about to kick off his partnership with the Three Stripes on the brand’s most iconic silhouette.
A very first look at the André Saraiva x adidas Superstar shows significant restraint from an artist known for his use of color. With the OG in mind, André has kept things classic, with signature black overlays topping a vintage-look off-white leather base. Sole units, Shell Toes, tongue, laces, and liners follow suit for a heritage look and feel. From there, Saraiva adds a personal touch, with his John Hancock sitting prominently on the lateral ankle, and his signature smiley face, stick-figure motifs placed on the tongue and heel. Insoles of pink provide the pair’s only color pop, with it appearing once more on the pair’s special-edition packaging to tie in the entire release.
Grab a look for yourself just below, and be on the lookout for these at select Three Stripe stockists and adidas.com this Spring. As always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
In related news, the Superstar has just surfaced in two corduroy and plaid colorways for Christmas
