Disney's Stitch Gets adidas U.S. Football Cleats for 626 Day

Disney introduced the world to the blue-colored alien Stitch on June 21, 2002 via the Lilo & Stitch animated film. Over the last 24 years, Experiment 626 has become one of the most-recognizable figures in animation and earned the love and admiration of countless fans of all ages.

Ahead of June 26—which is also known as 626 Day—Disney has teamed up with adidas to launch a special-edition pair of the Adizero Electric II U.S. football cleats. Rooted in playfulness, the project has been designed to help athletes of all skill levels create chaos on the gridiron just as Stitch would.

The collaboration is covered in a "Bright Royal/Cloud White/Cloud White" color scheme that brings one-half of the Lilo & Stitch universe to life. A mix of high-quality materials appear across the Adizero cleats, with a hairy suede and chenille finish capturing Stitch's fuzziness; the light blue thick laces do the same.

Elsewhere, the cleats' interior dons a purplish makeover that nods to Experiment 626's ears; the beloved blue alien also claims real estate across the latest Disney x adidas collab, striking different poses on the forefoot, tongue, and heel. Lastly, "Family" is printed on the spine, reflecting the "ohana" message that's central to the Lilo & Stitch story.

The playful U.S. football cleats releases tomorrow, June 26, at 3 a.m. EDT via adidas.com. Pairs will be available in sizing for Kids ($70) and Adults ($140). The adidas footwear is just one part of Disney's 626 Day festivities, which include new content and global fan experiences.
