After working on a slew of adidas and Reebok’s classic hoop shoes over the past few years, it would be the next logical step for the Three Stripes to enlist New York athletic designer Eric Emanuel to collaborate on a capsule that celebrates one of the most anticipated events in high school hoops: the McDonald’s All-American Games.

Having experienced the Highs and Lows of the adidas Rivalry, Eric now shifts his focus to the Forum, which is undoubtedly the central point of the Three Stripes retro catalog for 2021. Design-wise not much has changed in line or form, though Eric has introduced some interesting color blocking tweaks amongst a slew of included motifs and logos. Overall, the pair boasts a vintage aesthetic, with uppers of while, sail, and beige all converging to result in such a style. And you can add to that rough-cut leather quarter and strap overlays, sail-tinted midsoles, and aged-look long tongues for effect. The event’s color scheme is plasterd throughout, with McDonald’s red and yellow arriving on the lateral Three Stripes, and the collar, heel clip, and outsole respectively, while blues cloud the forefoot and strap cut-out, as well as the medial Three Stripe detail. Capping odd the design is the event’s official logo at the tongue and lateral ankle, Eric’s double-E logo at the forefoot, the Golden Arches on the flip side, and co-branded insoles within.

We don’t yet have a release date for the Eric Emanual x adidas Forum High “McDonald’s All-American”, nor do we even know if the event will go ahead, but you should expect to see these arrive sometime this Spring. Retailers SNS have listed up a March 19th release for the Eric Emanual x adidas Forum High “McDonald’s All-American” and its accompanying apparel collection. The sneakers, slides, and clothing will all release on the SNS webstorefrom 10 am ET on the day.

After releasing at a handful of select stores last month, adidas US has now confirmed its release date for the Eric Emanual x adidas Forum High “McDonald’s All-American” for April 23rd, 2021. Pairs will be available from 3 am ET on the day for $140.
