There's no telling whether or not Adidas Originals' partnership with The Simpsons began as a one-off project, but what's certain is that over the last few years, the partnership has produced some of the sneaker industry's most playful collaborations in recent memory. The latest proposal from the ongoing relationship sees the animated sitcom's Treehouse of Horror series inspire the Forum Low.
No stranger to the team behind Homer, Marge, Bart, and the rest of the Springfield-based show, the old school basketball silhouette abandons any reference to the Simpsons' iconic living room in favor of a much more sinister makeover. A medley of "Lime Burst/Green/Semi Court Green" hues take over the majority of the performance-informed design from 1984. The midsole, profile 3-Stripes, and vamp take on the darkest shade of the bunch, allowing for remaining sections to divvy up lighter tones. All hues, however, work in-tandem to bring Kang and Kodos to footwear-form.
The alien creatures' lone eye appears on the top-of-the-tongue, staring at any passerby with not-so-amicable vibes. The sneaker's shoe box also opts for a green color scheme and features tentacle-like shapes tormenting Homer and Marge's children. The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror branding is printed onto the box in a slime-like style.
Enjoy official photos of the cartoon-inspired collaboration from the Three Stripes ahead. Pairs should land via Adidas.com before October ends for around $120.
