Unheardof has teamed up with Adidas to introduce the Rivalry Low "Building Bridges," a sneaker that encapsulates a deeply personal journey of discovery and determination.
Inspired by brand founder Phil Lipschutz's transformative skateboard ride from Latonia to Cincinnati over the iconic John A. Roebling Bridge, this collaboration symbolizes the passage to new possibilities.
Phil's initial trek across the Roebling Bridge, which later inspired the Brooklyn Bridge, opened up a world filled with vibrant urban landscapes and intricate architecture, fueling his passion for skateboarding and the arts. This journey ultimately led to the establishment of Unheardof in Cincinnati in 2008, marking the city as his new home.
The "Building Bridges" edition of the Adidas Rivalry Low is meticulously designed to reflect elements of the Roebling Bridge and Phil's experiences. It features an upper inspired by the Buena Vista freestone of the bridge, complemented by "Roebling Blue" suede stripes and a translucent "foam green" sole that mirrors the summer hues of the Ohio River. Details like the Captain Piggy design on the heel add a playful narrative layer, reminding wearers to steer their course.
This limited-edition release, capped at 1000 pairs, celebrates Cincinnati's rich architectural heritage and supports the local community. Proceeds from the sneakers will benefit the Children’s Home, reflecting Phil's commitment to giving back to the place that shaped his path.
