adidas and UnheardOf Unveil the “Grandma’s Couch 2” Rivalry Lo Release

Following the success of the 'Piggy Runner', Philip Lipschutz II's UNheardof has another Adidas Rivalry Low in the works.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, adidas and UnheardOf founder Phil Lipshutz are teaming up once again to deliver a heartfelt tribute with the new “Grandma’s Couch 2” Rivalry Lo — a sneaker designed to honor the life, legacy, and lasting impact of Naomi Phillips, known to many as the internet’s beloved “Sneaker Grandma.”

Set to release on May 10, the limited-edition pair marks the final chapter in UnheardOf’s now-iconic “Grandma” Rivalry series. The project holds deep personal meaning, as Naomi played a vital role in guiding the creative process up until her passing in 2024.

True to its name, the “Grandma’s Couch 2” blooms with floral patterns handpicked by Naomi herself. A personal touch continues on the heel, where the adidas logo appears in her own handwriting. Hidden inside the shoe is a sketch — a heartfelt reproduction of the note Naomi’s husband used to propose to her 75 years ago, etched onto the insoles. Phil Lipshutz also added a final nod to his grandmother through a reversed handwritten note, symbolizing his journey with dyslexia and his enduring gratitude.

The packaging is just as meaningful. Echoing the luxury beauty products Phil used to gift Naomi, the shoebox mirrors the sneaker’s floral aesthetic and includes watercolor paintings by Naomi’s late husband. Rose gold accents round out the theme, tying together remembrance, joy, and the importance of celebrating loved ones while they're still with us.

The adidas x UnheardOf “Grandma’s Couch 2” Rivalry Lo is priced at $185 and will be available starting May 10 in-store only at UnheardOf.
