Lapstone & Hammer Releases An ASICS GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ Duo on March 1
Fresh off launching two new styles with Kiko Kostadinov, ASICS is partnering up with Philadelphia's Lapstone & Hammer to release a GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ duo a month before its global drop.
As with other popular offerings from the Japanese sportswear juggernaut, the silhouette in question draws inspiration from the company's expansive running archive. Details across the upper – namely the technical welding and eyelets – have been directly transplanted from last decades performance-running roster. The styles slated to release early via Lapstone & Hammer abandon the vibrant tones seen on Kostadinov's recent collaborations or the newly-surfaced ZUTOMAYO GEL-Kayano 14 project, opting for 'White,' 'Seal Grey,' and 'Pure Silver' tones instead.
The breathable, highly-technical upper falls in line with the unshakeable Y2K trend. The FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO midsole, however, delivers modern-day cushioning across both options. Visible GEL® technology also presents ASICS heritage in a strategic, futuristic manner.
Enjoy product photography for the duo below – shot by Lapstone & Hammer's Creative Director Evan Kaucher. Pairs will release via the Philadelphia-based retailer on Saturday, March 1, before hitting ASICS.com and global stockists in April. The GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ is priced at $180.
In other sneaker news, the Tom Sachs Mars Yard 3.0 is slated for a launch in September, marking the artist's first collaboration with Nike since he was accused of inappropriate behavior by former employees.
