SHUSHU/TONG's ASICS GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ Collab Is Inspired by Ballerinas
Shanghai-based fashion label SHUSHU/TONG is in the midst of its 10th anniversary. Instead of investing time and resources into a year-long spectacle, the imprint has been hard at work throughout the first-half of 2025. Its loyal following has remained informed about Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang's design work, but a newfound audience has just begun paying attention to SHUSHU/TONG thanks to an impending ASICS GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ collaboration.
Previewed earlier in the year, the project has finally gotten a release date confirmed by the Chinese label. Though a newer silhouette within the ASICS SportStyle catalog, the GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ has quickly amassed a cult-like following thanks to its simultaneously familiar and future-forward aesthetic. SHUSHU/TONG's mix of technical and prim details have made the upcoming drop one of the Japanese sportswear company's more anticipated of the year.
As with its mainline work, SHUSHU/TONG's ASICS collab is rooted in girlhood, nostalgia, and an affinity with prim elements. The running-informed build is reimagined through "White/Silver/Light Blue" and "Black/Navy" color schemes. Furthermore, the duo of GEL™-cushioned sneakers don ruffled lace material throughout the uppers, drawing inspiration from ballerina skirts and other womenswear.
