The ASICS GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ has a long way to go to become as ubiquitous as some of the Japanese brand's other technical footwear offerings, but it's closing the gap with a healthy mix of versatile inline styles and special collaborations. The latter category has recently added a project with Nasushka to its roster.

Founded in 2005 by Sandra Sandor, Nanushka has been delivering environmentally-friendly apparel, accessories, and footwear to some of the most fashionable figures across the globe. Its effortless femininity has been lauded over the last 20 years, with its base in Budapest also being championed given Fashion's lack of attention of Hungary's capital. Sandor and team's ethical craftsmanship arrives to its first-ever sneaker collaboration with ASICS, modifying the modern technical silhouette enough to tread the fine line between sportswear and art.

Straight away, what's noticeable about Nanushka's rework is the inner bootie construction that peaks from out the collar, a detail missing from standard versions of the GEL-assisted sneaker. Understated black and greyscale color schemes take on the co-branded duo, and yet the shoes make an audible statement.

Vector logos on the profiles opt for a fashionable, hand-embroidered update reminiscent of the ongoing Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS partnership. Elsewhere, a speed-lacing system replaces typical laces, positioning the silhouette in an outdoorsy space not inherent to the design. The robust GEL-cushioning units at the heel deliver both bold and reserved finishes that harken back to the Japanese institution's performance origins. The inaugural project between both brands forms part of the Crafts for Mind Project, an initiative focused on product for the outdoors. A portion of profits made from the shoes will be donated to Mind Over Mountains.

Enjoy detailed shots of the GEL-KINETIC FLUENT™ duo below. Pairs are set to launch on Tuesday, March 25, exclusively via Nanushka's online and in-person shops. A limited quantity of both colorways will also release at Dover Street Market London at 12 p.m. GMT for $275.
