A product of 2014, the ASICS GEL-CUMULUS® 16 is positioned to enjoy time in the spotlight over the next year. After emerging in a standard mesh-and-synthetic-overlay presentation, the retro running silhouette has emerged in a floral makeover courtesy of Cecilie Bahnsen's work for the brand's inaugural Signature Series collection.

Photos acquired by Elden Monitors showcase the 11-year-old design in two looks: black and cream. Each offering indulges in what looks like the semi-translucent base layers that've appeared on a number of the Danish womenswear label's projects with ASICS. Close inspection, however, reveals that the base layers simply don a different finish than inline pairs of the GEL-CUMULUS® franchise.

Overlays across the profiles enjoy different finishes, with the cream-colored style featuring silver accents throughout the sidewalls. By contrast, the predominantly black pair favors glossy panels around the top-half. Both takes on the GEL-CUMULUS® 16 replace traditional lacing with bungee lacing system; the toggle opts for a floral shape seen on Cecilie Bahnsen's projects.

Pairs have been developed to debut the ASICS Signature Series, an initiative that aims to make elevated product more accessible and inclusive.

Underfoot, the sneakers' sole unit keeps retains its mid-2010s performance elemnts. Like the impending GEL-QUANTUM 360™ returning for its 10th anniversary, the GEL-CUMULUS® 16 features visible GEL technology, stability structures, and ample rubber coverage.

Enjoy official photos of the newly-surfaced pairs ahead. The floral-covered styles are set to release globally via ASICS.com on Friday, June 27. A launch in Europe has been scheduled for Friday, July 11.
