NBA Jam x Converse Collection Arrives August 30th

Long before NBA2K (and even before NBA Live) avid gamers who were fans of the National Basketball Association were glued to one game: NBA Jam. From insane dunk packages to memorable lines like “He’s on FIRE!”, the arcade game-turned-console franchise holds special places in the hearts of both gamers and basketball fans alike. Now sneakerheads will be able to get in on that nostalgia, too, with Converse set to collaborate with the franchise for a multi-pair pack on August 30th.

What better sneakers to celebrate a classic on than classic themselves, with the Chuck 70 and Pro Leather lining up, ready at the joystick to celebrate the game. The former, a traditional canvas model, instead opts for a hardwood-inspired tan complemented by an enlarged version of the video game’s logo, and a white noise-like lining at the heel and tongue. Conversely, the Pro Leather is, in fact, leather, and done a simple black and white build with special pixelated fire graphics that derive from the famous “He’s on Fire” phrase — it even reads at the lateral panel in place of the traditional “Pro Leather”. Both pairs are competed by pops of bright aqua, the 70 along the outsole and Star tags, and the Pro along the collar.
