Indiana’s very own Kito Wares returns next month with a follow-up Passion of Christ Resurrection Days, a sequel to the controversial Passion of Christ Dunks released on Christmas Day 2020.
The inaugural version of the shoe made itself known in the sneaker industry through the controversial depiction of Jesus Christ. However, this continuation is poised to reach a greater audience and be an even bigger topic of discussion — the blind worshipping of brands. For 2021, the Passion of Christ Resurrection Day Sneakers return to core details like a puffy mesh skate shoe style tongue, ventilation holes on the toe, and comfortable interior padding. With a “Chapel White”-colored pebble grain leather upper and bloody prints throughout the sneakers, The incorporation of a crown of thorns as well as a cross on the heel, the pair is designed as a way to explore religion as a branding exercise.
While other streetwear designers have tried to call attention to the way fans religiously follow a brand, The Passion of Christ Resurrection Day Sneakers does so quite literally by integrating Christian iconography.
A release for the Passion of Christ Resurrection Days has been set for Friday, September 3rd, at 5:00 pm ET right here on kito.online
