Beef has been pushed aside.
LeBron James has had a busy offseason, as he announced the opening of the I PROMISE School in his hometown of Akron, and also has caught up on watching some NFL regular season action.
But the single biggest news that has dropped aside from his blockbuster signing with the Los Angeles Lakers? The fact that he un-blocked JaVale McGee on Instagram.

The initial blocking has an infamous history. On December 20, 2015, McGee posted a screenshot of James’ account as an Instagram picture, showing his followers that he had been blocked. Now, nearly three years later, the two are teammates in Los Angeles and the IG fence has been mended.
The is a wise and necessary move by James to unblock Javale and start things up in LA with a clean slate. You never want social media controversy to affect a team that’s trying to build something real and lasting following too many years of mediocrity.
The Lakers will be a team to watch in the Western Conference this upcoming season, but it’s a good thing to know that McGee and James will now be able to see if either one posts a selfie on Instagram.
At least we have that.
