Eagles Kicker Jake Elliott Gives Sokito Football Boots NFL Debut

The Philadelphia Eagles took on the Washington Commanders last night, ultimately taking a hard-fought 24-22 victory. The Week 1 matchup gave fans of either team lots to talk about while also presenting a curious tidbit over which gearheads could nerd out about: kicker Jake Elliott's mismatched cleats.

It might've been difficult to notice through the tv screen, but #4 for the Eagles had on two different pairs of cleats between his right (standing) and left (kicking) foot. The former has seen some variant of the Nike Vapor franchise, whereas the latter—which has earned him the nickname "Jake the Make"—will see football boots by Sokito, the eco-friendly brand trying to disrupt the market.

Founded in the United Kingdom by Jake Hardy in 2018, the independent label has been delivering consciously-made, high-performing footwear since 2022. Although the company's focus remains the competitive world of global football boots, it's exploring ways to serve athletes in sports across North America—namely U.S. football.

Last night, Elliott showcased a promising future for Sokito within the National Football League (NFL) by making a 35-yard field goal.

Sokito's NFL debut arrives as Hardy and his small operation continue to make inroads across every level of "the beautiful game." In conversation with House of Heat°, the company's founder shared that California has been its strongest U.S. market thus far. The team plans on capitalizing on this trend, investing time and resources at the youth level, while continuing to promote Sokito boots by way of strategic partnerships with the likes of Elliott, Dee Alford of the Buffalo Bills, and A.J. Terrell Jr. of the Atlanta Falcons, as well as various domestic soccer players like DeAndre Yedlin of Real Salt Lake (MLS).

Currently, Sokito only offers one speed-focused design in a number of iterations, but has plans to expand its offerings over the next two years.
