The Air Jordan 1 Defiant “Tour Yellow” Drops on July 27th

A sneaker that defied the constraints of the court.

The Air Jordan 1 is iconic. Like the Chuck Taylor, it started out as a hardwood classic. But, as time and technology overran it, it found new life in unexpected ways. It’s forced its way into many subcultures, all of which are so uniquely different, and now, Jordan Brand will be celebrating the sneaker’s diversity though a special “Defiant” collection. First, we saw the Couture, a pair that was inspired by a melting pot of cultures; the original Banned Air Jordan 1 from the hardwood, fused with elements of Luxury sports cars, and the sneaker’s migration to high fashion. Now, for the collection’s sophomore offering, it turns to one of the sneaker’s most unlikely of successes; alternative rock.

For a DIY aesthetic, the red swoosh treatment takes inspiration from leather jacket’s stitching details and removable patches. Black leather on the upper and a contrasting yellow swoosh salute to ‘80s album colors and irreverent streetwear that defined alternative rock at the time.

A very unique offering from the Jordan Brand team, this Air Jordan 1 High OG Defiant “Tour Yellow” is set to arrive at select Jumpman retailers below and Nike.com on July 27th, 2019 for $175.
