Jordan Brandwill continue to celebrate their college PEs with repurposed retail releases, with confirmation of an Air Jordan 5 “UNC” release for 2023

Following on from similarly-styled “Michigan” and “Oregon” colorways from 2019 and 2020 respectively, Mike’s Alma Mater marks the third instance of the pack. Once again you can expect premium nubuck uppers, special boxing, and athletic-inspired heel patches — you know, the ones that people hate. Here, it’s University Blue that paints the nubuck uppers, with tonal mesh, eyestays, laces, and liners to its immediate surrounds. Reflective silver tongues rest up top, with OG Metallic-inspired sole units resting underfoot — complete with a light blue tint to the translucent outsole pods.

Of course, this isn’t UNC’s first round in Jordan Brand’s PE-inspired collection, with 2022’s Air Jordan 6 the first Tar Heels colorway to don the divisive heel patch.
