Debuted during his short stint in professional baseball in 1994, Michael Jordan’s ninth signature model, the Air Jordan 9, and it instantly became one of the brand’s most revered sneakers. No longer tied to the Bulls franchise, the model experimented with atypical colorways, namely the “Olive” and “Powder Blue” releases. The latter stood out more so, with its striking white-based design and accenting colors that paid homage to his time at Chapel Hill. Now, with these silhouette approaching its 30th anniversary in 2024, it only fits that the brand celebrates with a retrospective release of the original Air Jordan 9 “Powder Blue.”

Last seen in 2010, the Air Jordan 9 “Powder Blue” is clad in a crisp white upper, with stark black contrasts along the tongue construction, sock liner, and pull tab. The sole unit’s Jumpman pops against the colorless background. The midsole and tongue branding feature the shoe’s signature swatches of “Powder Blue,” creating a striking color-blocking effect. Unlike the 2010 retro version pictured above and below, the 2024 release will not feature the embroidered #23 logo across the heel in true-to-OG form.

Enjoy a first, and now official look at the 2024 retro below, and look for these to be released on Nike SNKRS on March 23rd, 2024.
