What you Need to Know about the Upcoming KAWS x Air Jordan Collaboration

The Jordan Brand x Kaws Air Jordan 4 is on its way, and there’s more to the collaboration than just a sneaker. A collection of apparel will accompany the highly anticipated sneakers when they hit retail. Rumors are flying around about actual numbers, from extremely limited to quite the opposite.

The collaboration connects two individuals with Brooklyn roots, who are world-renowned in their respective crafts in Michael Jordan and Brian Donnelly—better known as Kaws. “We look for collaboration partners that meet our standard of greatness,” explained Jordan Brand’s Senior Design Director for Special Projects, Gemo Wong. “Street art defies the traditional art canvas and can live anywhere. We look at our footwear design through the same lens, as an artistic expression on the streets. With Kaws, we create new connections and push the boundaries of our design thinking.”

The collaboration is highlighted by a suede-covered Air Jordan 4 in a tonal grey colorway which mimics look of some of Kaws’ most notable companion pieces. It features a glow-in-the-dark sole and Kaws’ signature “XX” on the heels. The collection also includes a hoodie, t-shirt, five-panel cap, and a satin coach’s jacket.

The collection launches in Greater China on March 28, and worldwide on March 31.

The Kaws x Air Jordan 4 Retro will be available in New York via Nike.com Draw today at 6:30 p.m. EST.
