“You’re making too may Jordan 1 Highs.” — So they switch to Lows and . . .“I wish they made that in a High.”
Jordan Brand can’t ever win. They know that. Which is why, of late, they’ve just said “fuck it” and focused on their own agenda. It seems to have worked, with the brand posting it’s first-ever billion-dollar quater last year — the first of many to follow. The run of lows (and mids, for that matter) has been incredible, with the likes of the “UNC”, “Gym Red”, “Paris”, “Coachella” and the upcoming “Light Smoke Grey” all tempting even the most skeptical of the silhouette. Sure, we’d love to see all of those and more make it to an OG High-cut, but it’s Jordan Brand’s prerogative. If they’re selling, why change a damn thing? — But that won’t stop us from dreaming them up.
This one right here, our Air Jordan 1 High “Shadow Toe“, is based on the aforementioned “Light Smoke Grey” Low, in response to the slew of “need to be High” posts in the social comment sections. We have switched a few things around, though, including a cooler shade of grey, white tongue and laces and the addition of smokey collars to visually balance out the toe box. A very simple pair that would no doubt sell out in high, mid or low editions, and probably will one day hit the market.
