2018 was packed full of reimagined Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Jordans. From the Swooshed Air Jordan 3’s in the beginning of the year, to the sketch-inspired Jordan Black Cats, it’s been quite a trip down memory lane for the sneaker design GOAT.
But the final tip of the cap to Tinker was the reworking of iconic colorways from Hatfield’s retro catalogue into the form of Air Jordans. The Jordan x Nike Icons collection was born.
We saw the “Chlorophyl” Air Jordan 3 based off the OG Air Trainer 1, The Air Jordan 6 reflecting the Air Trainer 2 SC, the Air Jordan 10 mimic the Huarache Light, and now, finally, the Air Jordan 8 takes on the iconic “Air Raid 2”
The Air Raid and Air Jordan 8 are literal cousins. both are centered around criss-cross (will make ya JUMP JUMP — sorry, I had to) straps on the upper, and both arriving with a mid-high cut construction. Because of their resemblance, the cross-over feels oh-so-natural, it’s perfect.
The “Air Raid” AJ8 will be hitting select stores listed below on December 22nd.
