35th North Paints the New Balance Numeric 480 in Pacific Northwest Colors
New Balance Numeric has teamed up with Seattle’s 35th North Skateshop for its first footwear collaboration, reworking the Numeric 480 with colors inspired by the Pacific Northwest at dusk.
The design pulls from the landscape surrounding Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountains, mixing blue, brown, purple, teal, pink and cream across the skate-ready silhouette. Blue suede across the toe represents the sky before sunset, while brown around the heel nods to the surrounding forests. Purple and violet reference local wildflowers, teal mirrors the reflection of alpine lakes, and pink and mauve capture the colors of a Mount Rainier sunset.

Cream detailing across the toe and outsole represents the mountain’s snowy peak. There’s also a slightly less peaceful reference to the region hidden within the design: Sasquatch appears on the heel and custom tongue label, lurking among the Pacific Northwest-inspired details.
Three sets of flat laces — off-white, teal and purple — are included, each finished with 35th North branding on the aglets.
Originally introduced as a basketball shoe in 1983, the New Balance 480 was adapted by New Balance Numeric for skateboarding in 2024. The skate version features a widened, double-layer toe cap, modified tread, a reinforced heel and FuelCell cushioning, alongside an Ndurance rubber outsole.
“We wanted a unisex shoe that anyone would be comfortable wearing,” said 35th North owner Tony Croghan. “The goal was to excite people with the possibility of having more color on their shoe, especially if that's something they aren't used to.”
The 35th North x New Balance Numeric 480 releases exclusively on August 19, 2026, through 35th North in-store and online. The first 300 in-store purchases will also receive limited Cascade-themed packaging, an air freshener and sticker.
A wider release via NewBalance.com is set for August 31.
