New Balance 992 "Outdoor School" by Aminé Is A Love Letter to the Pacific Northwest

Aminé is back with another New Balance collaboration. For Fall 2026, the Oregon-native has decided to imagine the 992 silhouette as a love letter to the Pacific Northwest. He's calling the Made in USA project "Outdoor School" as an ode to the field science program that's been operating in his home state since 1957.

Throughout his collaborative career with the Boston-based brand, Aminé has demonstrated an affinity for trail-informed footwear, mixing rugged outsoles, brown color executions, and glossy patent leather panels on some of his work. The New Balance 992 "Outdoor School" forgoes any aggressive traction, but indulges in a muted color palette that pops in a select way thanks to material treatment and carefully-considered, narrative-driven accents.

Unveiled through Instagram, the latest Aminé sneaker collab captures a love for the outdoors that's "essential to the childhood of all Oregonians," according to the artist. "Outdoor School helped me and so many others discover the beauties of the natural world and make so many friends/memories in the process. The wood cookie [hangtag] feels like home and the true Oregonian membership card," he shared on social media.

Although the brown-colored Made in USA sneaker will surely be more appreciated by those who relate to Aminé's PNW childhood, the high-quality craftsmanship and storytelling that went into the project can be admired be all.

Some of the details the 32-year-old incorporated into his collaboration include: his signature logo on the spine; woodland insoles; a letter explaining the project, printed on the pair's tissue paper; and tool box-inspired shoe box.

The "Outdoor School" 992s by Aminé releases on Saturday, Oct. 2, for $220. Sign-ups are now open via the artist's clubbanana.com site.
