Chicago's Every Now & Then Store Now Has Its Own New Balance 992

UPDATE 07.09.2026 The Joe Freshgoods-founded Every Now & Then (ENAT) store has taken to Instagram to share release details for the initial launch of its New Balance 992 "Westbound" collaboration.

As its founder has done in the past, ENAT is inviting community members to donate "new school or art supplies for a chance to purchase" the green-colored sneaker project. Interested parties are welcomed to bring new donation items to 1843 W. Chicago Ave.—site of Every Now & Then's new West Town location—on Saturday, July 11. This event will serve as the shop and community space's soft-opening, as well as the first chance to buy the New Balance 992 "Westbound" collab.

The Joe Freshgoods-founded Every Now & Then shop and community space in Chicago is linking up with New Balance for Summer 2026, delivering a new take on the iconic 992. Dubbed the “Mint Gum,” the pair blends cool pastel overlays with earthy foundations to ease into the new season.

Unlike their previous project on the Fresh Foam X RCVRY slip-on, this effort keeps things familiar, sticking to the classic Made in USA 992 construction. Cream mesh and beige leather form the base, overlaid by soft mint suede at the toe, heel, and eyestays. Matching green hits land on the tongue and iconic “N” logo, tying together the fresh palette. The hits of green draw inspiration from the Green Line near Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, where Every Now & Then (ENAT) was first located (a picture of the "L" is printed onto the sneaker's insoles).

Underfoot, ABZORB cushioning is housed in a two-tone midsole, grounded by a timeless gum rubber outsole that fits the fall transition perfectly. Branding is kept subtle, with Made in USA hits on the heel and understated Every Now & Then cues tucked into the design.

The collaboration is rooted in a similar refined storytelling and design ethos that has been prevalent in JFG's work, bridging everyday wearability with thoughtful detail. Following the laceless “everydays™” RCVRY project earlier this year, this Made in USA 992 now offers a more traditional silhouette with seasonal appeal.
