New Balance will look to onboard a brand-new collaborative partner to the brand in 2022, with Chicago-born-tuned-LA-based artist Bryant Giles tapped for a turn on the 2002R.

Though not officially confirmed by either party, a very first look at the release via woganwodeyang shows the artist’s signature sketchings around the upper in embroidery, and screen printed across the insoles. Said upper is delivered entirely in tonal olive canvas and suede, with interchangeable midfoot N motifs, liners, and laces all following suit. The aforementioned embroidery works in hues of forest green, yellow, pink, purple, and black, while the insole illustrations work in colors more vibrant. Amongst the heel’s embroidery rests a rhetoric “what now?” before an overly simple sail and grey sole unit completes the design underfoot.
