New Balance’s 2010 continues to find its footing as one of the brand’s more interesting modern canvases, and its latest collaboration comes by way of D.O.E., the Shanghai-based label and retailer known for blending streetwear with a distinctly local point of view.
Dubbed “Yin & Yang,” the D.O.E. x New Balance 2010 frames the model through the idea of balance. Rather than leaning on loud graphics or heavy branding, the project works through contrast, texture, and opposition, arriving in black and white executions that mirror each other across the same futuristic runner.
The white pair pairs light textile underlays with hairy suede overlays, black leather paneling, and toggle lacing for a more technical finish. Its counterpart flips the mood with a mostly black build, reflective N branding, cream accents, and visible Cordura detailing along the upper. Worn together, the two pairs make the theme especially clear, creating a literal push and pull between light and dark.

It is a smart fit for 2010, a silhouette that already lives between categories. The model has a bulky running shape, lifestyle-friendly tooling, and enough open space across the upper to carry a concept without feeling overworked. D.O.E.’s take keeps that balance intact, using the shoe’s layered build to tell the story through material and color rather than forcing the theme.
The D.O.E. x New Balance 2010 “Yin & Yang” will launch first in mainland China on July 11 through D.O.E., followed by a July 12 release through New Balance Grey pop-up locations and the New Balance official mini-program. A wider release through select official retailers is expected on July 14.
