Brimming with pristine sandy beaches and imposing mountain ranges, Virginia encapsulates natural beauty at its finest. Besides its alluring geography, the state has emerged as a significant catalyst in the world of street culture. Hence, we decided to join hands with New Balance to create a sneaker that honors Virginia's multifaceted charm.
The much-anticipated DTLR x New Balance 2002R "Lovers Only" is the finale of our dedicated shoe line inspired by the DMV region, following the trail of our earlier releases, the avant-garde 990v4 "DMV" and the urban-chic 992 "D.C."
The sneaker showcases a fresh spin on the classic running shoe aesthetic, featuring a breathable mesh fabric paired with sophisticated grey and black suede accents. The striking "N" symbols on the sides bear a distinctive split outline in a dynamic duo of red and black hues. Plus, the shoe comes with a pair of laces in an elegant cream shade and another in a vibrant royal blue.
The splash of colors on the shoe visually represents Virginia's symbols. Elements of blue are borrowed from the state flag, the hints of yellow capture the infinite lines on the highways, and the daring black-red combo imitates the iconic sign that announces "Virginia is for lovers."
This DTLR-exclusive colorway will be accessible on DTLR.com and at DTLR outlets on May 26th, with sizes for both men and children.
