Where to Buy: Joe Freshgoods' "Let's Get Weird" New Balance 1890 Collaboration
Don't call it a comeback, but Joe Freshgoods recently took to social media to tease a New Balance 1890 collaboration.
Having spent most of the last four months relatively quiet, the Chicago-native has been hard at work behind-the-scenes, both at the Boston-based brand and via his own projects. By the looks of it, one of the things that has been occupying the creative's time is a special-edition of the NB 1890, a big bet for the company this year.
The New Balance 1890 hit the market with the help of an Action Bronson collaboration. Although well-received, Baklava projects haven't seen the widespread availability of some of JFG's work. Therefore, Mr. Joseph Robinson's co-sign of the technical silhouette should be just the push it needs for its inline colorways to move off shelves.

On Monday, April 13, JFG took to social media to fully unveil his 12th project with New Balance. His work on the NB 1890 currently consists of two color schemes that pair vibrant orange and rich purple next to black-colored elements. According to the Chicago-native, the duo draws inspiration from "All the Bold colors and crazy energy" he saw in his favorite rap music videos throughout the '90s.
It seems that Mr. Freshgoods has dubbed his collaborative 1890s "Finger Waves" and "Naughty Things," although he hasn't shared specifics as to why. The video for "What's It Gonna Be?!" by Busta Rhymes and Janet Jackson, however, seems to have inspired JFG's purple sneaker.
The Raffle for Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1890 collection is open now until April 23, right here, with a global launcg via NewBalance.com and select retailers set for April 30, 2026.
