Where to Buy the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v4 "1998 Pack"
Celebrated for his distinctive approach to sneaker collaborations, Joe Freshgoods has once again delivered the goods with his latest New Balance 990v4 collection.
Drawing inspiration from the visual aesthetic of Hype Williams’ 1998 film "Belly," this trio of sneakers marries cinematic nostalgia with contemporary style.
The collection presents three unique colorways: the "Intro," "Outro," and the vivid "Keisah Blue."
Moving away from his usual pastel palette, Joe Freshgoods opts for timeless monochromatic schemes in the "Intro" and "Outro" designs, while "Keisha Blue" offers a striking tribute to the film’s iconic blue-tinted bedroom scenes.
Craftsmanship is at the forefront, with each pair boasting premium materials synonymous with New Balance's Made in USA range. Pigskin suede, patent leather, and nubuck come together to create sneakers that are as luxurious in feel as they are in appearance.
Joe Freshgoods' personal touch is evident throughout the collection. His initials, JFG, are subtly placed on the lateral heel, replacing the standard 990 text. Additionally, "1998" is featured on the heel tab as a nod to the year the film was released. The right sneaker's insole is also adorned with JFG branding, further solidifying the designer's unique imprint on these classic silhouettes.
A release date for the "1998" collection has been earmarked for December 22 on NewBalance.com, with an earlier raffle taking place on Joe's official webstore that closes on December 15; the Keisha Blue colorway will be exclusive to JFG.
