The New Balance 1000 “Dark Ice Wine” Drops January 31
New Balance is keeping the momentum rolling for the 1000 in 2025, but they’re enlisting some high-profile support this time.
According to Foot District, Puerto Rican rapper Eladio Carrión is helping launch this "Dark Ice Wine" colorway, appearing in the official campaign video. However, with no explicit branding or personal touches from Eladio—alongside two other metallic-laced 1000s dropping around the same time—it seems more like an endorsement than a true collaboration.
After a successful revival in 2024, the New Balance 1000 has carved out a niche in the tech-runner space, moving beyond its brief original run. Now, the focus is on keeping that momentum alive. Delivering bold color-blocking and standout finishes is part of the plan, and this release certainly fits the bill.
The all-leather build employs a top-to-bottom split, a theme seen on multiple New Balance 1000 releases last year. A chrome-finished upper sits atop a jet-black midsole, while the namesake “Dark Ice Wine” shade runs through the middle, adding a sharp contrast that stands out in the growing lineup of metallic-infused tech runners.
Expect the New Balance 1000 “Dark Ice Wine” to release soon in the US; European stores will see a release on January 31st.
