New Balance Gives into the Memes with "Dirty Silver" 1000 Release
New Balance continues to build out a compelling roster of inline styles. The latest arrives as a cheeky nod to the ever-memeable dirty sneakers trend that presents the NB 1000 with pre-distressing.
Colloquially referred to as the "Dirty Silver" pair, the newly-surfaced style sees the Boston-based brand's 1999 trail runner in one of its most head-scratching makeovers to date. A "Silver Metallic" hue takes over the entirety of the performance-inspired upper and sole unit, but a "worn" aesthetic dims its shimmer.
In recent memory, similar footwear—whether from factory or use—has been the topic of conversation across social media. Those familiar with heritage pairs like the New Balance 992 know that constant wear of N branded footwear result in a similar look to the New Balance 1000 in question. "Black" contrast arrives around branding elements and the outsole underfoot, although it blends in with the sneaker's dirty finish.
Enjoy detailed shots of the "Dirty Silver" NB 1000 ahead. Pairs should release via NewBalance.com by October for $150. Some European and Asian shops have already launched the pair in limited quantities.
