New Balance 1906 Loafer “Celery” Draws Inspiration from Early 2000s Icons
New Balance continues to push the boundaries of hybrid footwear with its latest 1906 Loafer release. This time, the slip-on silhouette arrives in a colorway unofficially dubbed “Celery,” a nod to its resemblance to the Air Tuned Max’s earthy palette from the early 2000s.
Staying true to the 1906R’s technical DNA, this loafer maintains a layered mix of breathable mesh and synthetic overlays. Here, tonal browns and muted metallic greens work together to deliver an iridescent look that subtly references the futuristic design language of Nike’s turn-of-the-century running line. A molded heel counter, brown ENCAP-cushioned sole unit, and slip-on construction further reinforce the model’s blend of performance and lifestyle.
Though unconventional, the 1906 Loafer has become a cult favorite. With past releases selling out rapidly and resale prices spiking, demand has only grown for new colorways. This “Celery” edition arrives on the heels of another upcoming pair in “Black/Metallic Blue,” signaling a potential dual release later this Fall/Holiday 2025 season.
Expect the New Balance 1906 Loafer “Celery” to release soon on NewBalance.com and select stockists.
In other news from New Balance, the new ABZORB 2000 has just appeared in a stealthy black option.
