New Balance 550 “Bred” Earmarked for January 1st Drop
Following its first-ever retro last month by-way-of Teddy Santis and his New York-based label Aime Leon Dore, NB will now look to drop an onslaught of general release colorways on the market — both new and old. Looking ahead of December’s early OG drops, the silhouette will begin to appear in a multitude of new colorways — many of which are expected to derive from classic on-court kicks of the era.
Ostensibly, but likely intentional, the pair arrives bearing an eery resemblance to the “Air Jordan 4 Black Cement”, with black nubuck uppers, striking white midsoles, and punchy pops of red throughout. Greys feature minimally, too, complementing the original 1989 Air Jordan. If that wasn’t enough, the bright white tongue tags are fixed with red branding and piping, while liners are finished in light grey to channel the Jumpman once more.
Grab a preview of the colorway here below, and look for this New Balance 550 “Bred” to hit select retailers and NewBalance.com in the new year for $110 bones.
