During the Fall/Winter seasons, the New Balance 550 got overhauled in everything from canvas to suede — and sometimes a mixture of both. But as the calendar has ticked over to 2023, we’re beginning to see a return to traditional tooling, as this New Balance 550 “Honeycomb” release demonstrates.

Boasting franchise hues of shocking yellows and striking blues in conjunction with heritage whites, the pair certainly makes a statement. It’s tooling and blocking is typical, with colored mesh, collars, and midfoot motifs joined by brand marks, rear clips and rubber outsole in sporting pigment. The rest arrives in pure white, save a light sail tint applied to the midsole.
