The Black Suede New Balance 990v6 Arrives April 7
Almost four months since its debut greyscale drop, things have been awfully quiet for the New Balance 990v6. Apart from the hype drummed up by the Action Bronson “Baklava” collab, the silhouette hasn’t been seen. But as is the blueprint for any new sneaker model, a slew of GR releases are expected to follow the big-name collaboration — and in this instance, it’s an effort in black and grey that fits the narrative.
Akin to some of New Balance‘s most iconic offerings, the newly-surfaced sneakers indulge in a classic black mesh and suede scheme, complete with NB-staple silver accents. Breathable mesh bases reprise their usual role, while overlays across the model’s entire body seemingly opt for its standard suede makeup; plastic hardware throughout the mid-foot and heel also kept their traditional construction. The reliability and performance of the cushioning and tread combination underfoot aren’t compromised — in fact, they’re heightened with extra bulk — and left to revel in a heritage split-color white and grey arrangement. 990 motifs rest on the lateral ankle, while a new V6 motif at the tongue signifies the silhouette’s sixth installment.
A Stateside NewBalance.com has just been confirmed for April 7th, 2023, with pairs set to arrive in both men’s and women’s sizing for $200.
