With PaperBoy, Nice Kicks, YCMC, and DTLR recently delivering inspired efforts on the 992, New Balance looks to its in-house design team for its next release — this one reverting back to a basic monochrome color scheme with a twist. Introducing the New Balance 992 “Elephant Print” which, as the title suggests, features a print that channels an iconic Tinker Hatfield design.
Anchored in black mesh, the pair is it with tonal black suede and satin overlays, satin tongues, and laces, the pair presents the titular greyscale texture across the toe, mudguard, and heel, serving as a separator between the jet black upper and bright white midsoles. The latter is hit with pops of translucent jelly, before returning to a black rubber outsole underfoot. Lastly, branding hits at the midfoot focus on silver and white, with the tongue embroidery the following suit.
The colorway hit Saks presale yesterday and sold out in minutes — but other retailers should announce their release plans soon, so be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
