Fresh off the heels of a 42-piece at the Target Center last night, Kawhi Leonard — with the help of his sneaker-backers New Balance — is dropping another All-Star effort on us: this Klaw-designed “City of Angels” 997.
It arrives alongside the recently-released OMN1S of the same name, which was designed in partnership with the reigning Finals MVP, and is inspired by his new franchise’s City Edition uniforms. This pair, though, arrives blocked in blacks, but it keeps the same subtle mismatched design ethos of the accompanying OMN1S. Pictured below the right shoe, which features a blue N motif overlayed by red. The left shoe inverts that, and both arrive with embroidery on the heels and tongues in matching hues. The black suede upper is broken up by strategically-placed hits of grey at the forefoot, upper eyelets, and heel counter, while a small streak of white at the forefoot, and 7/8th section of the medial midsole breaks up an otherwise murdered-out sole unit.
