Red Wing and New Balance Offer Up a Boot-Based 997 for Fall
Boston-based brand New Balanceis heading halfway across the country to join forces with one of America’s most beloved boot makers, Minnesota’s Red Wing, to deliver a special edition 997. This Red Wing x New balance 997 brings with it all the premium materials and craftsmanship you’d expect from both brands, ushering in seasonal hues of golden tan across its supple suede and leather upper. Up top is completely tonal, with slightly lighter-colores leathers reserved for the tongues, the vamp, heel, and “N” motif underlays, as well as the luxurious liners. Suede overlays are held in place by slightly contrasting white stitching before a muted burgundy heel clip brings in a bold flash of color. Classic boot-like sail midsoles come cushioned by a light reddish-brown rubber outsole, while literal hot branding hits both the tongue and heel. Aside from the entire boot aesthetic, the only other visual connection to the Midwest bootmakers is the co-branded insoles.
These perfect-for-Fall collaborative kicks are set to arrive at select stockists like SNS and 43einhalb on September 21st for $300 USD.
In other New Balance news, the brand has just introduced a killer hiking-inspired silhouette dubbed the MSCRC.
