Nike SB's proliferation of Peter Moore's reworked Dunk Low has brought forth dozens of compelling releases since 2002. Over the years, numerous offerings from the skate-obsessed cohort have referenced other silhouettes and launches from under the Nike, Inc. umbrella—including Tinker Hatfield's oft-overlooked Air Safari cross-trainer from 1987.
Ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the SB team reimagined Hatfield's furniture-inspired Safari print via a special pair of the SB Dunk Low. A second pair, however, surfaced via eBay and other outlets, resembling the original Air Safari's "Cobblestone/Black/Monarch" makeover more faithfully. Touted as a Friends & Family-exclusive that never made it out of the sample stage, the style recently surfaced via e-commerce photos acquired by Elden Monitors, suggesting a retail release will take place in the near future.
The sneaker's signature detail is the dimpled panels around the forefoot and hind-foot, but a mix of other high-quality materials denote the Dunks' special edition. Midsoles opt for a faux-aged finish while the Air Jordan 1-reminiscent outsole keeps things simple in a pitch-dark tone.
Enjoy official images of the safari print-covered pair ahead. The shoes should hit Nike.com before 2026 arrives.
