"Team Red" Pony Hair Appears on the Nike Air Force 1 for Holiday 2026
Another day, another sneaker previewed on Instagram Stories by longtime NIKE, Inc. designer Frank Cooke. This time, the former Jordan Brand creative unveiled another Air Force 1 covered in "Team Red" pony hair.
The pair is the latest in an ongoing effort by the brand to present Bruce Kilgore's "presidential" design from the 1980s in experimental, elevated, and fashion-forward makeovers. A "Campfire Orange" style dubbed "Horse of a Different Color" launched in early August with a similar execution as the "Team Red" offering, turning away some sneaker-enthusiasts while winning over those with an affinity for the bold.
Both faux pony hair-covered Air Force 1s form part of Nike Sportswear's Quickstrike (QS) catalog. As such, only a limited number of units is expected of the "Team Red" pair once it finally releases before the end of 2026.
The newly-previewed AF-1 should release via Nike.com and a select number of global retailers by November with a $140 price tag.
