We didn’t even know that these existed! 🤯
Back in 2013, Jordan Brand introduced the instantly successful “Gamma” Air Jordan 11. It arrived in a stealthy mix of black through it’s upper and midsole — a first for the silhouette — along with semi-translucent blue outsoles and hits of Gamma Blue and Varsity Maize. Obviously, it became an instant classic, with pairs still in high demand six years later. Take a look at the release below:
Today, thanks to Index Portland, we get a rare look at an “Alternate Gamma” Air Jordan 11 Sample that no one outside the Jordan Brand inner circle knew existed. The pairs is similar in many ways, but looks vastly different than the retail release. It keeps the murdered-out midsole and black mesh upper, whilst keeping on the Gamma Blue Jumpman branding, The differences arrive with the noticeably lighter patent leather overlay and back heel panel, as well as the inclusion of a fully-translucent outsole. Capping off the sample’s differences is the use of a Hornet’s friendly purple in place of the retail-released Maize on the heel and tongue branding, as well as hits on the outsole’s traction pads..
Grab a detailed look below, first of the sample, and further below an official set of images.
It is interesting to note that the official images are not of the 2013 release — as official images were styled differently in the past. This could indicate the return of the release in the near future. For news on that, stay tuned into HOUSE OF HEAT!
