The 2025 WNBA season is fast-approaching. And while we wait to see Sabrina Ionescu, A'ja Wilson, and other elite athletes take the hardwood, Caitlin Clark is allegedly working with her Swoosh family to launch her own Nike Kobe 6 Protro in an icy "Light Armory Blue" update.
Reported by the Sneaker Market and @brandon1an duo, the news arrives after the Indiana Fever's guard was pictured modeling the "Moonwalker" Kobe 9 Elite Low, an innovative basketball shoe inspired by Michael Jackson set to return in July. As part of her deal with the Swoosh, Clark is also due for her very own signature sneaker, which will place her amongst an exciting crop of new(er) signature athletes. Before this, however, the world will get a chance to buy one of her many Player-Exclusive (PE) editions of the late Black Mamba's sixth silhouette.
Worn on the hardwood last year, the impending Protro features a "Light Armory Blue" finish complemented by "White/Blatic Blue" accents. The boldest shade of the trio animates the iconic swooshes at the profiles, while the reptilian scales that cover the upper indulge in a more reserved hue. Cushlon foam and support clips at the heel keep things tame, allowing for the upper's shades of blue to revel in the spotlight.
A Nike.com release date for Clark's Kobe 6 Protro hasn't been confirmed by the brand as of yet, but a tentative date of Oct. 1 has been proposed by initial reports. Stay tuned for updates on the $190 "Light Armory Blue" basketball shoe.
Outside of the world of hoops, the Swoosh empire has dozens of Jordan Release Dates still scheduled for the remainder of 2025.
