With Paris Fashion Week concluding over the weekend, we honestly thought we’d see more collaborative footwear teasers flow through. Aside from the two UNDERCOVER x Nike Dunk Highs unveiled last week, it’s been relatively quiet. That is until CDG’s Fall/Winter show over the weekend, where the Japanese label unveiled one of the most intriguing offerings in their long-standing tenure with Nike. The label unveiled two monochrome takes on the Nike Air Foamposite One — one black, one white — with standard CDG minimal branding in the rear. But it’s the reworked foam shell uppers that have brought the silhouette into a new light.

Foam molds are notoriously expensive to make, so for Nike to give CDG it’s very own mold is simply unheard of. Gone is the silhouette’s vertical tiger stripe-like finish, with the imprint opting for an effect one could only describe as topographical. Mimicking the rolling heights of terrain, the pair forms two distinct focal points at the ankle and forefoot, the former even appearing similar to a thumbprint in its styling. Sole units, liners, and lace stays remain tonal to their respective shells, while carbon fiber shanks are a blanket black.

Dover Street Market has confirmed the release of the CDG x Nike Air Foamposite One for November 5th at Dover Street Market and Comme des Garçons stores as well as on the DSM E-SHOP (11 AM ET). The retail price is $520 USD per pair.. DSM and CDG stores in Japan will launch their pairs on November 26th.

Update 11.10.21

After a small-batch release earlier this month at DSM, the two CDG x Nike Air Foamposite Ones will see. wider rollout at select global retailers like END on November 13. A wider Nike.com release is still yet to be confirmed.
