Kenya's Faith Kipyegon is a phenomenal athlete. Currently listed as the fastest woman in the 1500 meters and mile distances, she continues to redefine what it means to be a runner, mother, and woman. Before the year ends, she will launch her very own edition of the Nike Pegasus 41 trainer.
Officially clad in a "Plum Chalk/Burgundy Crush/Flash Crimson/Fuchsia Dream" color scheme, the pair is set to release throughout autumn. Unlike other footwear projects by fellow Kenyan elite runners, Kipyegon's abandons any direct nod to her home country in favor of a compelling makeover rooted in her personal tastes. The aforementioned medley of hues also deviates from the near-fluorescent looks that've landed on the Pegasus Premium, the historic series' elevated offering.
In addition to presenting a compelling style, Kipyegon's running sneaker arrives in a custom shoe box that features an important quote on the lid's underside: "I want to show the way. When I get older, I want to hear the next generation talking about Faith, saying, 'I want to be like Faith.'" Aspiring to be a three-time Olympic champion is no small feat, but it's possible with the proper guidance and discipline.
Firm Nike.com release details for the commemorative Pegasus 41 haven't been disclosed by the brand yet, but that should change as August inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the pair below.
