The Nike Running lineup was overhauled coming into 2025. New editions to storied franchises have been presented to much fanfare, but the Oregon-based company continues to honor its past through modern performance products. Case in point?: An all-new Pegasus 41 inspired by the Waffle Racer from the 1970s.
Part of a larger Nike International collection, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a "Multi-Color/Vivid Green/Dark Apple/Clear" color scheme. Although the Oregon Ducks-friendly makeover demands attention on its own, is also raises eyebrows due to its superimposed details.
Close inspection of the silhouette's upper reveals layered swooshes and branding on the tongue, as well as "reinforced" forefoot, rear-foot, and profile areas. The design choice mimics the VaporFly 4 "Pre Montreal" offering that blends heritage with modern performance. The ReactX-cushioned trainer does the same, but with the Waffle Racer from the mid-'70s. A touch of yellow animates the midsole, while the waffle-inspired rubber outsole completes the package in traditional "Black."
