2012’s Nike SB Dunk Will Be the Next Doernbecher to Re-Release

Nike’s 15th-anniversary celebration of the annual Doernbecher Freestyle partnership rolls on, with the next retrospective release surfacing today. Following on from today’s retro drop of Jacob Burris’ Air Max 95 from 2015 is this Nike SB Dunk High, designed back in 2012 by then 10-year-old Finnigan Mooney.

Finnigan went through a whopping 13 heart surgeries, so it’s no surprise that his inspiration came from his battles. A human heart on the upper and the word ‘THUMP THUMP’ on the heels suggesting that, while his physical heart may have had its struggles, his metaphorical one was bigger and stronger than ever.
