France's Michael Olise is reportedly the newest member of the Nike Football Family.
According to Footy Headlines, the 24-year-old has signed an exclusive boot deal with the Swoosh after years of being a free agent. The move had been speculated for some time, but arrives shortly after Nike lost Kylian Mbappé to On. Additionally, the initial report states that Olise has been brought into the North American juggernaut's team as the brand looks to revive the Hypervenom football boot franchise in 2027—a line that the Frenchman has been wearing consistently since 2019.
During the 2026 World Cup™, Olise laced up old pairs of the Nike Hypervenom III during official matches, but was pictured training in what appeared like a prototype version of a remake of the boot. Footy Headlines reports that the Phantom 6 will be the final Nike Phantom offering as the sportswear giant looks to replace the silhouette with new Hypervenoms.
Erling Haaland, the Nike Phantom's current global face, is expected to be the Hypervenom revival's main face, but Olise will also play an important role in re-introducing the franchise. Football boot fans see Olise joining Nike as a full-circle moment given that "Mr. Nonchalant" had been holding out on signing an exclusivity deal in order to play in his favorite Hypervenoms. Furthermore, his style of play aligns with the lethality inherent to the franchise.
Stay tuned for confirmed details from Nike and Olise. New and retro Hypervenom product should land on Nike.com by Summer 2027.
