New Yorker’s about to lose their shit.

It’s a retro we’ve been waiting to see since last year’s announcement that the King’s sneakers will begin to retro in the coming years. And not only does it look and feel amazing – it has a great story behind it.

During discussions of his first signature sneaker, LeBron James told Nike the he could literally play in anything – even a pair of Timberland Boots. Nike went one better for the all-star break that year, taking his first signature silhouette and giving it the full New York treatment, from the iconic tan suede upper, to the brown leather accents and Gum outsole.

The shoe was actually designed for LeBron to wear during the 2004 Slam Dunk Contest, but they were debuted in the 2004 Got Milk? Rookie Challenge Game instead

And for the record, we’re certain he’d still bring some serious game in a pair of Timbs. Now that would be something else.
