Marcus Thuram is bringing one of Kevin Durant’s most recognizable sneaker colorways onto the football pitch.
The Inter Milan forward recently debuted a custom pair of Nike Mercurial boots inspired by the Nike KD 6 “PB&J.” The pair appears to be based on the Nike Mercurial Superfly 11, dressed in the familiar yellow, black and purple palette from Durant’s food-inspired colorway.
Thuram also found the back of the net while wearing the custom boots, giving the KD-inspired look an immediate on-pitch moment.
The timing is fitting, with Nike recently bringing the original KD 6 “PB&J” back to retail for the first time since its 2013 debut. The retro revived the yellow, purple and black look inspired by Durant’s childhood favorite snack.
Thuram’s custom Mercurials carry that same theme into football, complete with KD-inspired detailing and the recognizable “PB&J” color scheme. For now, the pair has been made specifically for Thuram, with no release details expected.
